According to the Central Electricity Authority, the nation's overall production of green energy surpassed 125 GW in March 2023. Tenders for 15 GW of green energy will be released in the first two quarters of the current fiscal year, while tenders for 10 GW will be released in the last two. As the organisations responsible for implementing renewable energy, the government has chosen NTPC, Sola Energy Corporation of India, NHPC, and SJVN.

For solar, wind, solar-wind hybrid, round-the-clock (RTC) RE power, and other types of renewable energy, the renewable energy implementing agencies will be allowed to submit bids with or without storage.
