In a significant stride towards sustainable energy solutions, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has successfully commissioned a groundbreaking 1,040 kW Bifacial Solar System project in West Bengal. This milestone initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Chengmari Tea Estate, marks the inaugural deployment of on-ground bifacial modules in eastern India. The bifacial solar system deployed by TPREL represents a cutting-edge technology wherein solar panels capture sunlight from both surfaces, harnessing power from two sides. Key Project Details The commissioned project, located in West Bengal, is anticipated to generate approximately 1.5 million units (MUs) of energy annually. This reduction is equivalent to the positive environmental impact of planting 47,000 teak trees.
